Having a consistent fertility yoga practice can help you get pregnant
Over the past few years, I have worked with hundreds of exhausted, frustrated, and determined women who are trying to conceive. Of all the years I’ve been teaching fertility yoga, almost every student who REGULARLY comes to class has become pregnant and transitioned to motherhood.
There is no denying that dealing with obstacles to having a baby is a stressful and a difficult path. When creating babies becomes medicalized (as it often does when we involve doctors) the mind, emotions, overall health & lifestyle, energy, and spirit are sidelined. Yet these variables are all feeding into your reproductive health. Fertility Yoga is holistic and addresses all of you.
When practiced correctly, yoga can improve your reproductive health, balance hormones, and increase your chances of getting pregnant. When done with a skilled teacher, you can practice yoga through all of your cycles – IVF and menstrual. Western research is finally catching up to what Eastern science has known for centuries! I have had the honor of witnessing and guiding 100s of people to pregnancy and motherhood. Watching so many fulfill their dreams of becoming parents is one of my life’s greatest blessings.
What does the research say?
In 2018, a major literature review of 87 studies showed that yoga can provide effective stress management for patients with infertility, as well as have beneficial effects on fertility. They concluded that yoga can help some couples overcome infertility and increase ART success rates by improving their physiological and psychological states.
Kerry and Fertile Body Yoga provide both an environment and the opportunity to connect with and reset your body each week. Physically, the movement feels nourishing, but, perhaps equally as important, the focus of each class feels spiritually nourishing during what can be a really depleting time.
