How and Why?

Fertility and Stress

Research shows, with overwhelming evidence, that it is stressful to be infertile and/or undergo ART. Not a huge surprise!

Studies have also shown that those with a lower stress level are more likely to become pregnant, especially when doing IVF.

If you are tired of hearing that you need to relax to get pregnant, which stresses you out more – KEEP READING!

Pregnancy and Stress do not have a cause and effect interaction with pregnancy. Women all over the world are getting pregnant while totally stressed out, and many women are not getting pregnant who are super chill. Stress does not negate pregnancy! It is one variable of a very complex biological and hormonal dance.

Yoga and Fertility

Research is showing that the use of Yoga and other mind/body practices to mitigate the inherent stresses of assistive reproductive therapy and infertility can greatly reduce the symptoms of stress.

Those that regularly practice Yoga are better able to handle the ups and downs of treatment, are overall less stressed out, and have higher pregnancy rates.

And even more specifically, studies looking at Fertility Yoga programs from 6 weeks to 3 months long show that those participating had statistically significant higher rates of pregnancy for Frozen Embryo Transfers.

Yes to all of that!

MEET KERRY

Greetings and Welcome.

If you are reading this, then you are probably here because you are experiencing some set backs in becoming pregnant or staying pregnant – I want you to know that I share in this path with you.

Having gone through 3+ years of fertility treatments, experiencing pregnancy loss, and eventually having two successful pregnancies gives me first hand knowledge of how stressful and cyclical these times can be. I’ve walked the walk – at times with grace and contentment, and times with despair, frustration, and fear.

Teaching Yoga has been a part of my life since 2006, and over the last few years I have trained and specialized in Fertility, Prenatal, Postnatal, and Restorative Yoga.

After teaching weekly Fertile Body Yoga classes and workshops in Boston since 2016, I have supported hundreds of people on their family building missions.

I can tell you that, without a doubt, you have the ability through Yoga and Mind/Body practices to optimize your fertility efforts, by reducing stress and nurturing the health of your body, mind, and soul. I hope that you will give me the opportunity to support you throughout your journey, whatever it may look like. ~ Kerry

It is physiologically impossible to be in a state of anxiety and relaxation at the same time.

"I discovered Fertile Body Yoga midway through my IVF journey. My only regret was not finding it sooner! Kerry's class helped me develop the habit of slowing down and nourishing my emotional and physical body, which I desperately needed during a stressful and emotional time. Her class is an incredibly supportive space for women trying to conceive to come together and practice in a very intentional way. Kerry is immensely caring and I really felt the sense that she got to know me and my fertility journey, which up to that point had felt very isolating. The class itself is wonderful and her thoughtfulness really shines in her teaching. Kerry combines long blissful restorative postures and slow movement with a focused theme. She beautifully weaves all this together to foster deep rest and relaxation. By the end of each class I felt steeped in relaxation. I am so grateful for Kerry’s expert teaching and offering this weekly class. It supported me in immeasurable ways."
